From two different towns to one wedding

Amara had almost given up on dating apps. After her last match fizzled out, she deleted the apps, told herself she would take a break, and then — because she could not sleep that Sunday night — reopened Jambah out of pure boredom.

Daniel had just moved back home after years away in the capital. His profile photo was a picture of him at his brother's graduation, and his bio said only two words: "New in town." Amara laughs about that to this day.

They matched within the hour. Their first message was about food — specifically, whether kisra was better with a particular stew (they disagreed, respectfully). The conversation never really stopped. What started as late-night texts turned into long walks, meeting families, and the slow realization that they wanted the same life.

A year later, Daniel proposed at the exact spot of their first date. Their wedding brought both families together under one tent, with music that went until sunrise.

"People ask me if dating apps work," Amara says now, holding her husband's hand. "I tell them they work if you are honest about what you want. I wanted someone to build a home with. I found him."
